The Energy of Healing

Energy is everywhere and everything is energy. It’s in the air we breathe, the water we drink and food we eat. It is the essence of our environment and what we are composed of. Whether you refer to it as vibration, frequency, matter, density, etc., it’s all the same thing. The unique aspect of energy is that it is composed of varying frequencies. It is those frequencies that differentiate each of us. When we speak of issues, blockages and imbalances, we are speaking of energy frequencies that have become misaligned. The goal of energy healing is to release those imbalances by restoring flow, thereby freeing us to become more creative, energetic and able to more fully experience life.

We sometimes think of ourselves as being high-energy or low energy types with many of us in the middle. Yet each individual is a compilation of many different frequencies that create a particular vibration. It’s because of this combination that there are so many different means available to assist healing and growth.

Regardless of whether it is Reiki, Acupuncture, Allopathic Medicine, Cranial Sacral, Chiropractic, Ayurvedic, etc., each modality operates on the premise that all blockages and imbalances, whether or not they result in specific ailments, are the result of various frequencies that have become misaligned. When one becomes aware of a particular imbalance(s), the focus is to find that modality or modalities that provide the necessary frequencies to restore balance. This is one reason why there are so many choices. They appear to be in competition with each other, but this is not true because each person will be drawn to the modality(s) most appropriate to release the imbalances that underlie their condition.

What then is an imbalance? An imbalance results from differing degrees of mental, emotional, spiritual and physical stress. I believe that most if not all of our physical ills are the result of some form(s) of imbalance. It doesn’t matter whether you refer to it as a blockage, issue, subluxation, etc. The stress comes from unresolved experiences e.g., disappointments, repressed anger, emotional trauma, loss of a parent or partner, etc., which underlie the ailment, disease, illness, etc. that needs resolving.

In medicine, a basic principle is to determine which drug or drugs, based on chemical (frequency) makeup, will best neutralize the specific germs or bacteria, that created the ailment. When neutrality (stasis) is reached, the affected area returns to normal. When an individual goes to a Chiropractor, the intent is to realign the spine, the main energy channel in the body, to restore optimal energy flow. The vibrational frequency that is out of balance and has resulted in the individual experiencing some form of disease is restored by the realignment. In Reiki, healing the practitioner is a channel for the energies they are most able to transmit that provide a counterbalance to the area that is out of balance. Additionally, when one practices Hatha Yoga, for example, the combination of movement, breath and stretching is a means through which the body increases its vibration by releasing old stuck energies from the cellular memory. This has the effect of creating greater ease of movement and up-liftment of spirit.

Despite their outward appearance, this is why it is often beneficial to use more than one modality to achieve healing. The combination of the different treatments helps to balance the many frequencies involved and restores health. Now it is true that all healing is self-healing and the desire of the individual to heal is of paramount importance. Still, it is a symbiotic partnership between the desire to heal and the modalities brought forth to accomplish that goal. That is why I believe we will see a greater interaction between traditional medicine and alternative therapies in the near future. Greater cooperation will enhance the likelihood of eliminating the imbalance that has created the disease or ailment on all levels.

Better health and enjoyment of life is obviously the goal of all these modalities and us. But what is the bigger reason? Is there something more than just enjoying robust health? The answer is (of course) yes. When one releases the old stuck energies that have kept us from being who we are, we begin to reclaim our Higher Self. As the issues release and let go, the energy that was being used to hold those issues in place is freed to allow an individual to become more creative, more expansive and more willing to explore the many joys and experiences of life in a way less limited by fear, trauma and past experiences. As we clear those blocked, stuck and imbalanced energies, we begin to raise our vibration. The more we rise in vibration, the clearer we become in direct proportion to the energy released. Little by little, we come into a greater understanding of who we are and why we are here. Following this thought, as humanity continues to grow and the light that is in each of us shines more brightly, we will become more aware of an underlying truth – that we are all one, and together we can change the world.
